We are looking for a Director, Voluntary Review of Quality of Care (VRQC) & Safety Certification in Outpatient Excellence (SCOPE) for Women?s Health Program who will:
? Oversee VRQC and SCOPE programs. Assess program status, comparing timelines against benchmarks; evaluate program and advise staff and committees regarding programs; talk to hospital and office clients as they decide to contract with ACOG; provide program updates at meetings; attend site visits as appropriate; oversee budget and income account; oversee the development and implementation of marketing strategies. ? Staff the VRQC and SCOPE Steering Committees. Regularly communicate with the Steering Committees to help guide the VRQC and SCOPE programs; work with committee members on strategic plans for the program, oversee the development of agenda materials with Steering Committee chairs and program specialists; implement Steering Committee decisions. ? Supervise the VRQC Specialist and SCOPE Specialist as they coordinate program logistics and individual site visit details. ? Oversee the development of general program and site-specific materials, including reports, manuals, and the SCOPE website. Review all reports of findings and recommendations before they are sent to hospitals and offices to ensure they are consistent with program and College guidelines; oversee the content of website. ? Oversee activities of reviewing teams for both. Work with the Medical Program Director and appropriate ACOG staff to recruit new Fellows, nurses, medical writers, and other health care professionals (eg, family physician, anesthesiologist) as reviewers for both programs; coordinate process for credentialing potential new reviewers; plan and implement training sessions; monitor reviewers? evaluations and initiate recredentialing per schedule or as appropriate. ? Create and maintain relationships with professional liability insurers, health plans, and large ob-gyn office practices in their support of SCOPE. Work with the Vice President, Health Policy, to identify professional liability insurers and health plans to support SCOPE and contract with them to offer incentives for SCOPE-certified offices and promote these relationships to Fellows. Identify large office practices and work with them to find ways to make SCOPE certification beneficial and accessible for their offices.
Requirements
Master's degree (MBA or health-related field preferred) with a minimum of 10 years of related experience required. Supervisory experience is required. Experience with healthcare delivery in inpatient or outpatient setting is desirable. Experience with creating and launching new programs, services, or organizations is desirable. Experience and excellent judgment in handling confidential material is required. Medical association experience is desirable.
The position requires excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; editing skills; a proper balance of assertiveness, diplomacy, and discretion; good judgment; ability to interact with a variety of people and institutions; skills in managing multiple projects; self-direction; computer literacy; occasional travel required.
