Converge Medical Technologies was awarded Outstanding Presentation and Runner-Up at the Michigan Business Challenge, a campus-wide business competition hosted by the Zell Lurie Institute for Entrepreneurial Studies at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.

Converge submitted a full business plan and investor presentation and was awarded Outstanding Presentation ($2,000) and Runner-Up ($10,000) for the Pryor-Hale Award for Best Business. The team was provided extensive guidance and feedback from Zell Lurie faculty and MBC judges to help develop and refine the business plan.

Converge is a spin-out of the Medical Innovation Center at the University of Michigan. The Medical Innovation Center fellows developed the company with Dr. George Mashour, an anesthesiologist and neuroscientist at the University of Michigan. The fellows are a team of postgraduates in medicine, engineering, business and health administration. They undertook six months of clinical immersion and opportunity identification in the sleep medicine domain, working closely with Dr. Ronald Chervin and the University of Michigan Sleep Disorders Center. After identifying more than 80 unmet needs, Converge Medical Technologies emerged from the process as the strongest opportunity.
