ABOUT THE FILM & TRAILER The Underground is a supernatural thriller, a ghost story, whose premise is based upon a horrifying and violent event that took place in 1853 in the tunnels beneath a house in Moorestown, NJ. This house was a stop along the famed Underground Railroad, a place where slaves fleeing cruel masters could find a safe refuge for a night on their journey. On this night, however, a tragic occurrence takes place that sets the stage for a haunting that will resonate into the present day. The feature script is an exciting and unique blend that consists of the history of the Underground Railroad, a well-paced suspense thriller, and the character-driven story of a 10 year old brother and 28 year old sister establishing the fragile bonds of a relationship for the first time after the death of their father. Elizabeth is ambitious and focused on her career, eager to sell the family home and take Mattie with her to resume her career in big business. Mattie is creative and precocious, resistant to leaving the family home and historic town to live in an unfamiliar place with his sister, who is still a stranger to him. As the siblings begin to know each other, supernatural events escalate in the family home, and Elizabeth begins to chillingly realize that something is drawing Mattie into The Underground. For the purposes obtaining funding, we are shooting a 2-minute trailer at the highest production values we can obtain. The trailer is being presented to a number of Hollywood studio executives.
