- HCPS has been honored by the College Board with the 2011 Innovation Award for getting the biggest increase in Advanced Placement exam passing rates from 2008 to 2010 among school districts in the U.S.
- Three-fourths of the county?s elementary schools garnered a grade of A or B in 2011, with Bevis Elementary School getting nearly 200 points more than what it needed to earn a grade of A.

Indeed, families moving to Tampa don?t need to worry about access to good Tampa schools. When your children are grown-up, they don?t need to go far away, as top universities and colleges are also nearby such as the University of South Florida, the University of Tampa and the Hillsborough Community College.
